Kyle Farrell, Daniel Sprong and Charles-Eric Legare all had 2 goals performances while Alex Bureau made 26 saves in the win. Isles goaltender Mason McDonald stopped 40 for the loss. Defenceman Justin Hache and Forward Guillaume Gauthier were scratched once again as they both battle day-to-day injuries while defenceman Stephen Woodworth returned after his injury. Other scratches were D Jason Bell who is also battling injury, and Nicholas Dozzi.
Daniel Sprong opened the scoring less than 3 minutes into the game at 2:34 for the Islanders. Then, less than 3 minutes after that Kyle Farrell tied it up with his first of the game on the power play, just 5:07 into the period.
2nd period began and was scoreless until late when Sprong scored his second of the game at 14:35. Just a few minutes later Charles-Eric Legare tied it once again and it is 2-2.
3rd period now, on the power play, Kyle Farrell potted his second goal at 4:03 on the power play. Soon after at 6:13, Jeremy Beaudry slammed one home for Cape Breton to give them a 2 goal cushion. Charles-Eric Legare sealed the deal for the Eagles win at 19:35, when he scored a power play empty net goal to make the final score 5-2.
The final shots were 45 to 28 for the Screaming Eagles.
The Eagles play next Sunday at 2pm AST, when they take on the Moncton Wildcats at Centre 200.
