Former Eagle Culligan signs PTO with the AHL's Texas Stars

Former Screaming Eagles captain Chris Culligan has signed a professional try-out contract with the Texas Stars, who are the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars.

The 25 year old centre from Sydney, NS played all 5 of his junior seasons with the Screaming Eagles and is their all-time leading scorer, with 284 points in 317 games. He also has played 5 season with the University of New Brunswick, amassing 131 points in 105 games played.

The surging Texas Stars lead the western conference with 80 points in 61 games. Culligan will have to put up a good performance to crack the talented line-up. In fact, Culligan has already played his first game with the Stars, going scoreless with a minus-1 rating.

I say Culligan has a 50/50 shot at making it. He has the scoring potential to maybe crack the third line or as a depth player. He will have the show up in the next few games in order to secure his spot on the team.
